PRINT FORMS

Flexo printing is a very broad printing process. Our portfolio includes printing forms for packaging printing as well as for napkins and, technical applications. The spectrum ranges from food and pet food packaging, napkins and, wrapping paper to the finishing of printed products in offset printing. We cover the entire range of flexographic printing forms. Printing forms individually adapted to you, worked out to the highest standard in our in-house repro department and implemented with the latest machine technologies – this is how we produce the following printing forms for you:

DIRECT ENGRAVING OF ELASTOMER

We manufacture the perfect elastomer printing form for you. Depending on the substrate, the ink system, and the type of print image you use, there are various elastomer compounds that may be suitable for you.

Together we will find the optimum elastomer printing form for your specific requirements. A longer service life, perfect fit and the possibility of producing a seamless continuous printing plate make this type of printing plate ideal. With the help of the latest laser technologies from Hell, all non-printing areas of the form are removed in a one-step engraving process.

With a resolution of 10160 dpi and the possibility to produce high screen rulings (depending on the raw material), good printing results are possible in both solid and highlight areas. We manufacture this type of printing form up to a bale width of 2000 mm and a maximum print image width of 1800 mm.

We are able to produce circumferences from 240 mm to 1350 mm.

DIRECT ENGRAVING OF ELASTOMER OFFSET COATING PLATES

We manufacture the perfect alternative to the coating plates available on the market, such as the Gold A coating plates.

Our offset coating plate is suitable for any kind of coating and is resistant to any kind of solvent and coating. The elastomer quality used is characterized by a very high and homogeneous transfer quality. Thanks to its 0.35 mm thick polyester carrier, the plate is absolutely dimensionally stable and has a very high circulation. Thanks to the high resolution of up to 5080 dpi, even the finest elements can be displayed accurately on the elastomer plate.

We manufacture the elastomer plate from the small format 0B to the IIIB format up to the large format 7B in the plate thicknesses 1.15 mm and 1.35 mm.

KODAK NX-WIDE SYSTEM

With the help of this technology, printing results in offset class can be achieved. The print image is applied to an image carrier (TIL) by laser. This is then laminated directly onto the printing plate. This is done in a process that prevents the loss of tonal value and detail due to the effects of oxygen – fully formed halftone dots are produced with an optimum base.

In addition, there is the possibility of applying a wide variety of structures to the individual grid points. This enables a higher density and prevents so-called leading and trailing edges in printing. In order to find the optimal structure for you, tests are necessary in advance, as it depends on the substrate, the ink and the anilox roller to determine which structure is most suitable. The Kodak NX plates are manufactured with a resolution of 2400dpi. We manufacture this type of printing plate in different thicknesses – 1.14 mm, 1.70 mm, 2.54 mm, 2.84 mm and 3.18 mm are in our portfolio. The largest possible format is 1524 mm x 1067 mm.

PHOTOPOLYMER SLEEVES

With the ITR technology (In The Round) we manufacture the photopolymer sleeves up to a printing width of 1700 mm and in the printing lengths of 230 – 920 mm. In addition to the possibility of seamless continuous printing, you benefit from numerous other advantages in terms of quality, handling and economy.

The photopolymer sleeves are coated with a LAMS layer for digital artwork. The print image information is exposed into this layer by means of a laser. These areas are then cured in a UV exposer. The non-printing elements are washed away with solvent in an inliner. This is followed by the drying process and finishing with UV light.

The photopolymer sleeves are available from us both in thin and classic as well as in built-up versions and are manufactured with a resolution of up to 5080 dpi.

PHOTOPOLYMER PLATES

In addition to the Kodak NX plate we offer digital photopolymer plates from the following partners: Flint, Dupont and Asahi. The delivered raw plates are coated with a LAMS layer and are imaged with a resolution of up to 5080 dpi, so that the finest elements and screen rulings up to 70 raster are achieved. Of course we offer the latest printing plate technologies with surface structures from Flint and Dupont.

We offer conventional photopolymer plates in the following thicknesses – 1.14 mm, 1.70 mm, 2.54 mm, 2.84 mm and 3.18 mm and the largest possible format is 1067 x 1524 mm.

ARTWORK/ REPRO/ LAYOUT

Specialization, experience and commitment: our reproduction

Flexographic printing places particularly high demands on the staff in the repro department due to the wide variety of printing substrates – from film to paper to cardboard – and the various machine configurations. This is because a variety of components must be taken into account in the pre-printing stage. Here we benefit from our many years of experience, with which we optimally coordinate all machine, printing and material parameters.

ARTWORK

Before your data can be adapted and reproduced according to flexo print specific aspects, the actual artwork of your print product must be developed. Also in this regard we are at your side to help you. Whether it is the processing of complex series in multilingual variants or print images specially designed according to your wishes. Together we will develop a concept to realize your ideas professionally and on schedule.

Subsequently, our completely digitalized pre-press department professionally prepares our customers’ data for the printing process. Taking all criteria into account, an exact reproduction is possible and finally transferable to any final product variants. In principle, we process all possible data formats. Due to the simulation of printing results – partly on original materials – there will be no surprises in the printing process.

COLOUR-BINDING HALFTONE PROOFS

When it comes to color failures in multicolor printing, color-accurate halftone proofs (so-called dot proofs) are an indispensable method of simulating the expected print result before even one printing form has to be produced. For this purpose, profiles are used which are individually created for the customer and which take into account and reproduce all relevant parameters in the print room. In this way, any technical challenges can be identified and overcome in advance by our experienced staff.

Whether foil in reverse or napkin in straight printing, we have the appropriate proof material for every substrate, so that we can offer not only a visual but also a haptic sample of the printed product.

LAYOUT

The individual flexographic printing-compatible repeats are assembled to form an overall layout. In addition, customer-specific print markings as well as all necessary brands and labels are added here. The customer is then able to receive and approve the overall layout both as a PDF and as a layout proof.

In accordance with the dual control principle, this department is also a control point for the individual prints produced in the repro department as well as for data supplied directly by the customer.
